Tell us a little about your brand. Who are you, what products do you offer?
I am a Margate-based sculptor and miniaturist who specializes in creating tiny food sculptures. I draw my inspiration from food photography and the produce grown in my family allotment, which brings so much joy to my dinner table. I firmly believe that you can have your cake and eat it too, and my aim is to bring the beauty of your plate to your everyday jewellery. Each pair of earrings is handmade with polymer clay, so every pair is unique, as no two designs will ever come out identically.
What motivates you to be creative, and how do you channel that into your work?
Definitely food and food photography inspire me the most. I feel very fortunate to live by the sea in an area with a thriving culinary community, which means that I can find inspiration everywhere. Whenever I try a new dish, my brain immediately starts working on how I could miniaturise it.
Why do you do what you do?
I love working with my hands and being creative every day. I also love how varied the work can be. I'm constantly inspired and creating something new.
Do you have a signature or star product? Tell us about it!
My oyster earrings are definitely something special. Oysters are so ubiquitous where I live, and I wanted to find a way to celebrate them. They really play up to the idea of the absurd, and there is something so wonderful about that.
